Update Two: Croatia, Greece, Turkey

Dubrovnik, Croatia

This is my favorite port, by far. It's stunningly beautiful.

During two of the days, we went to islands. Here's Mjlet, a national park, after I went swimming in that crystal blue water. I'm snacking on the Croatian equivalent of animal crackers, which I proceded to buy 4 gigantic bags of.

The Column of Roland in the Old Town of Dubrovnik. Roland? In Croatia? But heck if I wasn't glad to see my favorite epic hero.

Piraeus, Greece

You can't take pictures of you and the artifacts in any museum in Greece, apparently. This was usually okay. The statues are horrifically frightening as it is.

So we tried to fake some. This turned out very well, with me between the legs of Zeus. We gave up after this.

Me and Bailey at Delphi.

Our ship on the left, the MV Explorer, got a girlfriend in this port. She's pretty fine, right?

Istanbul, Turkey

The best thing about Turkey was all the poofy pants we bought. Seven pairs to my room alone. This picture is hard to explain, but completely normal in ship-world, at least within my room. As you can see in the background, I have a giant poster of Hadrien's lover boy and then Sappho - Bailey has the same posters on her side of the wall. So this is the two of us, lounging in the poofy pants and headscarves, me in the scuba and she in the gas mask from the Balkan War she picked up in Mostar. We're so fab.

Troy. There's not much there, but there's this fabulous horse that you can climb up. As Marguerite and I are true Trojans, preferring not to scale the weapon of their destruction, we flipped it off instead.

Fruko. Turkish version of Sprite. It's horrendous. We should've guessed from the name, really. Fruko. (Cola Turka, on the other hand, is wonderful.)

Cistern under Istanbul. Anyone read Garth Nix's Abhorsen books? When Sabriel goes under the city to find her father? I've been there.

Sky over the Aya Sofiya. Istanbul was my second favorite port, and I miss it like heck already.

Home in four weeks! Cheers!

My parents are going to Brussels and Amsterdam to visit my sister in the fall. One of the guidebooks they had out definitely had something about Bruges too, lolz.

Ereka, I totally know what you're talking about with the Abhorsen thing, seeing as I just read them. Hoorah.

Omg those pictures are amazing. When I was in London some of us were talking about going to Croatia, but the flights never quite worked out in relation to classes and things like that. :< I'll get there one day though.

And holy crap. The cistern under Istanbul was a major part of a book I just finished reading too, so that is really awesome to see.

Ah, nice! I'd love to go to Turkey one day (I think I'd die of happiness for the food, at least). <333 Isn't the water in Croatia amazing!? I didn't get to swim when we were there, but I can't tell you how much I wanted to. ;; Sounds like a wonderful trip! ♥
Ack, this reminds me again to upload my pics alreadyyyy god I'm such a slacker.
